Australian legspinner, Fawad Ahmed, has been selected for Trinbago Knight Riders as replacement of Shadab Khan for Caribbean Premier League. Shabad Khan is not available for the tournament.
Shadab Khan played a very important role in Trinbago Knight Riders for winning last edition. Shadab get 12 wickets in eight matches at an average of 15.33 and impressive economy of 5.75. His economy rate was second best, after Sunil Narine economy rate (5.39). Shadab was go back for national duty for the home series against World XI.
Trinbago Knight Riders director Venky Mysore said on Monday (July 2): We were very disappointed to lose on Shadab for this year’s tournament, but Fawad is a fantastic substitution. As a bowler who can twist the ball both sides we are sure Fawad will be a fantastic addition to the Knight Riders squad for the 2018 season.
Fawad Ahmed has experience of 39 T20 matches and has 35 wickets with economy with 7. Currently he is playing for Global T20 League in Canada for Vancouver Knights and has taken 4 wickets in two matches.
